TV & MOVIE PROJECTSSHOT LOCALLY TOPREMIER NEXT WEEK
(Ridgecrest)---Just before the rains started last December a production crew from the Discovery Channel spent a few days at Cuddeback Dry Lakebed filming a segment of their popular TV program BIKER BUILD-OFF. According to Ridgecrest Regional Film Commissioner Ray Arthur, that episode will be broadcast on Tuesday, March 22nd, at 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM. It can be found on local cable channel 44 and Direct TV Channel 278. Arthur advises to check your local listings. And the much anticipated independent feature film "LOST IN PLAINVIEW" will have its premier screening on Thursday, March 24th in Los Angeles. With the tag line: "A good friend will help you move. A great friend will help you move a body," this suspense thriller road movie starts out on a University of Florida campus...Ridgecrest; and, travels cross country to Plainview, Texas...Ridgecrest! Matching locations included Ridgecrest City Manager Harvey Rose's City Hall office as the U. of F. Dean's office, Randsburg as Plainview, and many area locations, including Charlie's Place, Fiddler's Gulch, Cuddeback Dry Lakebed, Spangler Hills and several area roads as rural Texas. According to Arthur, Producer Steve Carter is currently in negotiations for a distribution agreement that will see "LOST IN PLAINVIEW" released later this year. Arthur also noted that the film's production company was one of three recognized at last year's California On Location Awards, an annual event produced by the Film Liaisons In California, Statewide, or FLICS, of which the local film commission is a member.
