FREMONT DRY LAKE BED

FROM THE 405 FREEWAY:

• Take the 405 Freeway NORTH to the 5 Freeway NORTH.

• Continue on the 5 Freeway NORTH for approximately 2 miles to the 14 Freeway NORTH.

• Take the 14 Freeway NORTH for approximately 67 miles to Mojave.  From Mojave, continue on the 14 Freeway NORTH 18 miles. (You'll see the BLM Jawbone Canyon Visitor's Center on the left.)  Continue 1.6 miles.  Turn RIGHT onto Randsburg/Red Rock Road.  (The sign says "Randsburg 22, Johannesburg 23.")

• Continue 12.4 miles to the "Y" in the road.  Bear LEFT at the "Y".

• Continue 8.4 miles to the intersection of Highway 395.

• Turn RIGHT onto route 395 SOUTH.  Continue 19 miles.  Turn RIGHT at the doublewide dirt road.  (You'll see a wooden fence post in middle entrance).  Continue 1/2 mile.  Turn LEFT onto Powerline road.  Continue approximately 1/2 mile.  Turn RIGHT onto dirt road at entrance to Fremont Dry Lake Bed.

FROM U.S. ROUTE 395:

• Take 395 NORTH to Route 58 (Kramer Junction/Four Corners).

• Continue NORTH on 395 for 13.5 miles.

• Turn LEFT at doublewide dirt road.  Continue for 1/2 mile.  Turn LEFT onto Powerline road.  Continue for approximately 1/2 mile.  Turn RIGHT onto dirt road to Fremont Dry Lake Bed.

FROM FREMONT DRY LAKE BED TO RIDGECREST:

• Take the dirt roads back to Highway 395. 

• Turn LEFT onto Highway 395 NORTH.  Continue for approximately 29 miles to the Route 395 Business exit to Ridgecrest.

• Turn RIGHT onto Route 395 Business, also known as China Lake Boulevard.  (The sign says "Ridgecrest 8, China Lake NAWS 10".)

• Continue NORTH on 395 Business/China Lake Blvd. for approximately 8 miles to downtown Ridgecrest.
