The Ridgecrest Regional Film Commission processes all film permit applications for the City of Ridgecrest and the Ridgecrest Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).  Neither the City of Ridgecrest nor the BLM assess fees for student filming, however charges may be assessed for required or requested services such as: intermittent traffic control, displacement of employees, on site monitoring, etc.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A CITY OF RIDGECREST OR BLM

STUDENT FILM PERMIT ARE:

 1.     A letter of authorizartion from the student's school confirming that the permit applicant is a student in good standing and that the production is a school sanctioned project. This letter must be produced on school letterhead and include the signature of the Department Head.

2.    A certificate of insurance from the school naming "USDI/BLM" and/or "City of Ridgecrest" as Co-Insured for a minimum $1,000,000 liability policy; $5,000,000 if aircraft are included in production in any matter.

 3.    A complete project description including all activities, number of cast, crew, vehicles, etc. The RRFC can provide a project description form.
